Hospitalization day 14

Dr. Phillips came by today and wanted to change things up a bit to try to halt the intractable nausea and vomitting. Lacey says that her pain is seeming to dimenish somewhat but the nausea is persistent and from the vomitting comes pancreatic spasms. Dr. Phillips removed the nasogastric feeding tube :D but wanted to start her on TPN. TPN, for the non-nurses, is nutrition that is provided via the intravenous route. Lacey has the PICC line in her arm that provides her with IV fluids and the TPN will be hooked to that line and the nutrition will be provided into her veins instead of in her stomach. This is hopefully give the stomach a rest and allow the gastro system to relax. The doctor also ordered a new medication to increase Lacey's sleep so that the vomitting will stop. He said "I've never seen someone vomit in their sleep, so we'll make her sleep so the stomach can rest." The nausea has been purely brutal and Lacey is sore all over from the heaving. We are hopeful and praying that this step will change the course of things and allow her to rest and heal. God continues to be gracious to us and we are daily overwhelmed by His provisions. We are also overwhelmed by the ourpouring of kindness and support from our family and friends....and even people who we don't even know. It's difficult to know and understand just how valuable and precious the family of God is until you see Christian brothers and sisters literally lay their life aside and devote time, efforts, and money to assist another Christian. Thank you all.
As for Minnesota, all still remains planned and we are very excited. We plan to fly out on Oct 22 and have preopt on Oct 23. The 24th and 25th is the weekend and hopefully we'll have a restful one in Minnesota(and hoping to stay warm), then the surgery will occur on Oct 26th. Please continue to pray the God will be glorified through this and that Lacey could have releif of this 12 battle.
Thank you again for the outpouring of God's love through your prayers, love, and support.
