Lacey has had a much better night and remains asleep even now as I type this. She has had less pain and less nausea even between periods of sleep and continues to get medications but the medications do seem to have longer lasting effects. We hope to see the doctor this morning and get a good report and Lacey is very very very ready to go home. Not sure if it'll be today but we're hopeful! One new concern we have is that her PICC line which runs from her left bicep up through her shoulder into the top vessel of her heart, is having problems. She has extreme soreness to her under arm and shoulder area, but staff says there's no sign of infection or blood clot at this time. We will show doctor the concern this morning, so be in prayer that God will provide relief in this matter. We are thankful for her progress and we remain strong in the Lord, although we falter and even question God's purposes at times. We still know the our God is a mighty fortress, a bulwark never failing, and he is the rock of our salvation.
A thought that continues to cross my mind is the thought that God is our creator. With the title of creator comes many implications. He has created us from nothing and upholds us by his power. He knows our every part, every atom, and every body system that works within us. But God does more than "know" us, he continues to make us work, he holds us in place, and works his will through us. He did not create us and then step back to watch his creation move and function as an inventor would a robot. He created us, knows how we work, and causes us to move, stand, and accomplish that which he deems best. I can't help but think that even the smallest enzyme or atoms or cells of Lacey's pancreas are under the soveriegn control of our mighty God. He will be most glorified through it's functioning..or disfunctioning. Our prayer remains that even through suffering, pain, or unto death, we can only wish to glorify our God with the lives he's provided to us. In the few times over the past 16 days when Lacey's medication levels were low and she had moments of lucidity, she ensured me that she knew God had purposes here, and that she was more than ready to give of her life for his sake. He continues to preserve her, and we are thankful, but his purposes will not be thwarted and we are His. Please continue to pray for Lacey and her healing, but be sure to pray primarily for the will of God, not for our comfort and happiness. We know that what is His will will ultimately bring us the most comfort and happiness. Thank you all. May God bless you my dear brothers and sisters.
